Assembly was pretty simple overall. The front fender and light were a pain to install since they share the same mounting point, it was so clunky that I just left the fender off. Honestly, it was touching the tire anyway, which felt pretty unsafe and made no sense. The rear brake barely works, so I’ll need to fix that myself (not great). The front brake is a bit better, but I definitely have to plan my stops and use both brakes hard, it doesn’t feel super safe. Both brakes make an extremely loud squeak sound from day 1. I will need to pay an expert to fix them.
I added a third-party rear rack, which was doable, but the legs are kind of all over the place because of the chain, brake, and cables getting in the way, not many clean mounting spots. Also, the fifth gear won’t fully engage for some reason.
That said, the motor and torque actually surprised me. This is my first e-bike, and I bought the cheapest one expecting it to struggle, especially with the big hills in my town, but it handles them way better than I thought. The throttle is handy for getting started, and the pedal assist kicks in quicker than I expected (though not instantly). Normal pedaling without assist isn’t really practical, the bike is too heavy for that.
Battery life seems decent for cruising around with assist, I would not be worry to leave for 5h ride on full flat (or 2h with hills). The seat is just okay, not really comfy or uncomfortable. Tires feel fine so far, though the front one has a tiny wobble (barely noticeable). I get the sense this bike will need some ongoing maintenance more than usual.
Overall, you get what you pay for. But even with its flaws, it’s been great to get outside, move around, and enjoy the scenery. That alone makes it worth it for me. Don’t overthink it too much if you're on the fence.
